Kristy Offitt

As a member of the Firm's Employment Law section, Kristy Offitt represents clients in employment and civil rights cases, including matters pursuant to Title Vll of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2009, Kristy represented clients in employment law matters at a large firm in Nashville, Tennessee. Her cases there encompassed defense of a wide range of claims including Title Vll race, retaliation, and pregnancy discrimination claims as well as ADA and FMLA claims.

Kristy received her Bachelor of Arts in 2003 from Emory University, where she was a member of the Ethics and Student Leadership Forum. She graduated from The University of Southern California School of Law in 2007, where she was a Production Editor for USC's Review of Law and Social Justice. During law school, Kristy represented clients through USC's Immigration clinic and volunteered at the Santa Monica Domestic Violence clinic.

In her free time, Kristy enjoys reading as much as possible, cooking and traveling with friends.

Representative Experience

  • Obtained dismissal through summary judgment for multiple claims including race discrimination, retaliation, pregnancy discrimination and ADA claims.
  • Served as second chair in jury trial, defending a Fortune 500 company against Title Vll retaliation claim.
  • Assisted employers with all phases of EEOC and wage and hour investigations including onsite investigations and mediations.
