Unparalleled Class Action Expertise
With more than 80 years combined experience defending against and litigating class actions in the civil rights arena, ARH partners have tried more employment class actions than any other management firm in the country. Lawrence Ashe has been referred to by the National Law Journal as the “dean of the management class action bar” and is the only career employment lawyer who is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Lawrence Ashe and Nancy Rafuse were lead counsel for the State of California at a trial challenging the use of the State’s teacher licensing examination, which is believed to be the largest employment class action ever to be tried to a successful defense result.
We are retained as co-counsel to many companies’ regular outside counsel because of our unique experience and expertise in employment and civil rights class actions. The Firm is national counsel for five national employment testing firms. As such, we frequently advise and assist in class actions which involve challenges to our client’s employment tests.
