Teeka K. Harrison
Teeka Harrison graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University’s College of Law in 2005 and worked as an associate editor of Florida State’s Law Review. Teeka received various awards at her law school, including the B.K. Roberts Scholarship Award and Piece Editor of the Year for Law Review.
While in law school, Teeka also interned at Leon County’s Guardian Ad Litem program. During her GAL internship, Teeka represented the interests of children in front of a Magistrate Judge, Florida’s Department of Children and Families, and legal services.
Teeka was born in New York and raised in Connecticut. She is grateful for the support of her immediate family, which consists of two, loving parents (Alan and Candy), two older sisters (Briana and Carisa), two brothers-in-law (Matthew and Jeremy), and her first nephew (Ryan Carter).
Representative Experience
- Obtained dismissal through summary judgment of state tort and employment contract claims brought against a private college.
- Secured dismissal of Section 1983 claims brought against a private actor employer.
- Successfully obtained beneficial resolution of a dispute involving a multi-million dollar real estate contract.
- Assisted in the defense of FLSA collective actions on behalf of various nationwide retailers.
- Assisted in winning summary judgment and the dismissal of reverse race and age discrimination claims brought against a US linen and uniform service.
- Regularly conducts workplace investigations on behalf of employers and audits of employment practices and procedures.
- Regularly conducts witness interviews and assists with taking depositions.
